The MEP met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bujar Osmani.
Prime Minister of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev is visiting Brussels where he held a number of meetings related to the opening of negotiations for EU accession. Today the Prime Minister met with the standing rapporteur of the country Ilhan Kyuchyuk.
They discussed possibilities for finding a way out of the impasse in which there are two countries, building strong neighborly relations and connectivity between countries.
“We need an agenda that is based on the future. It is extremely indicative for us that we are holding this meeting now, because today we are about to start the Bulgarian participation in the Conference on the Future of Europe. And it is open to our partners in the Western Balkans, who can also be involved in the most democratic action since the creation of the EU. The key to good neighborly relations is connectivity – infrastructure, digital, educational and cultural. We must work to restore trust and strengthen relations between Bulgaria and the Republic of Northern Macedonia, ” said Kyuchyuk during the meeting.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani.
