Both expressed hope for a faster pace of talks on the country’s European integration
The MRF MEP, who is also the permanent rapporteur for the Republic of North Macedonia, Ilhan Kyuchyuk, met today in Brussels with the country’s Foreign Minister, Bujar Osmani.
“The elections in Bulgaria and North Macedonia are over, now we expect real negotiations to begin on resolving bilateral issues. During the election campaign, our political force repeatedly stated its unequivocal support for the immediate start of negotiations on the country’s accession to the EU. For the MRF, this is the best geostrategic investment in the region and a guarantee for the security and peace of the Western Balkans, and we will continue to work in this direction, “Kyuchyuk said during the meeting.
According to him, with a clear vision and mobilization for negotiations on both sides, Bulgaria and North Macedonia will find a compromise and we will witness a positive development.
Bujar Osmani expressed hope that meetings and contacts would be strengthened in December in order to achieve concrete results that are in the interests of both sides. The Foreign Minister also reaffirmed his commitment to progress in the process of European integration, regional co-operation and good neighborliness in the Western Balkans.
