Ilhan Kyuchyuk: Let’s honor Gotse Delchev together, he embodies everything he fought for

MEP and permanent rapporteur Ilhan Kyuchyuk honored the 150th anniversary of Gotse Delchev’s birth by laying a wreath at his monument in Skopje.

“Past events and personalities are remembered for the impact they have had on society and people’s lives. And the Balkans are a region full of historical events and we should be proud of our heroes because they have given a lot to Europe and the world. Such is Gotse Delchev, a tireless defender and revolutionary who gave his life for freedom and equality. “Having a heart of gratitude for his deeds and honoring him together embodies everything he has fought for,” Kyuchyuk said.

Later in the day, he took part in the opening of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) office in North Macedonia, which was also attended by the Bulgarian side – Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska, together with Deputy Minister Velislava Petrova. On behalf of the Republic of North Macedonia, Minister of Culture Bisera Kostadinovska Stoychevska and Deputy Foreign Minister Fatmire Isaki were present.

“This is a good day for the Bulgarian-Macedonian relations, because the good examples come to the fore, and I believe that they are the key to resolving bilateral issues. We have no interest in building additional walls between our countries, on the contrary. The agreement between MIA and BTA is a partnership according to European standards, which will provide an opportunity for the exchange of solid and reliable information, with which people can learn more about each other, ” said Kyuchyuk.
